Who it's for

How we help

  • Rate and fee review
  • Fixed rate expiry
  • Equity release
  • Renovation funding
  • Debt consolidation

Comprehensive loan review

We assess your current rate, fees and features against the options available from our lender panel.

Net cost analysis

We weigh potential savings against switching costs such as discharge fees, break costs and new loan fees, so you see the net outcome.

Repricing with your current lender

Your current lender may reduce your rate to retain you. We can assist with that request, which avoids the cost of switching.

Managed transition

If refinancing is in your interest, we manage the new application and the discharge of your existing loan.

Preparation

Documents to prepare

Documents can be uploaded securely when you apply. Your broker will confirm your lender's specific requirements.

Fixed rate expiring?

We recommend a review two to three months before your fixed term ends, so you have a plan in place before the loan reverts to a variable rate.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost to refinance?

Common costs include a discharge fee from your current lender, possible break costs on a fixed rate, application or settlement fees with the new lender, and in some cases lenders mortgage insurance if you borrow more than 80% of the property's value. We include all of these in our comparison.

How often should I review my home loan?

At least annually, and whenever your fixed term is ending, your circumstances change or interest rates move noticeably.

Is consolidating debts into my home loan a good idea?

It can reduce your monthly repayments, but spreading short-term debts such as credit cards over a 25 or 30-year loan can increase the total interest paid. We will outline both sides before you decide.

Can I access equity for a renovation or investment?

In many cases, yes. Equity is the difference between your property's value and the amount owing. Lenders generally allow you to borrow up to a percentage of the value, subject to valuation and your capacity to repay.

Does using a broker cost me anything?

In most cases you do not pay us a fee, because the lender pays us a commission when your loan settles. Our Credit Guide explains how we are paid, and we will tell you upfront if any fee applies.
